Michael (Mick) Davidson
Managing Director
Operations Manager, Recovery & Heavy Transport
In 1998 Mick purchased his first tilt tray and started Inproof Transport in Tullamarine, Victoria. By 2008 he had increased his fleet size to three tilt trays and a prime mover with drop deck trailer and was starting to specialise in the transport of trucks, construction and earthmoving equipment.
In 2008 Mick had the opportunity to buy Adams Towing which added a further 5 trucks to the fleet. The purchase allowed him to diversify into vehicle towing and provide further growth opportunities. The purchase of the A24 Hour Transport business in 2010 again added to the fleet and gave Inproof even greater diversity in terms of skills, customer base and equipment capability.
In 2013, Mick acquired Goldfields Tilt Trays (GTT) which is based in Kalgoorlie, WA. GTT undertakes similar work to Inproof but in the regional and remote parts of south eastern and central Western Australia.
Today, Mick still remains as the sole owner of Inproof Towing, Transport & Emergency Services and it is still based in Tullamarine. Whilst he is very involved in the overall management of the business, Mick spends a lot of his time in his capacity as a very hands-on Operations Manager for Recovery & Heavy Transport Services.
Maureen Whittaker-Dare
InGroup Australia Administration Manager
Operations Manager, Towing Services (Victoria)
Maureen started her career in the towing industry in 1985 when her family bought the Tullamarine based Adams Towing business (founded in 1940). She took over as sole owner of the business in 1996 and managed it very successfully until she decided to sell it to Mick in 2008. Maureen remains with the Inproof business and in her dual capacity of Administration Manager and Operations Manager, Towing Services, and brings to the business highly valued skills and a wealth of experience in the towing industry.
Rhonda Chrimes
Operations Manager (WA)
Rhonda is a relative newcomer to the towing world, having moved to Kalgoorlie to work for her brother Wayne Bruce early in 2012 where she originally commenced as the Fleet Controller of GTT. Rhonda’s previous 30 years’ experience in office administration, management and logistics in varied workplaces, affords her with a sound and diverse background to bring to Inproof. Following the November 2013 change of ownership, her role was expanded into Operations Manager. This gives her greater control of the day to day running of GTT and instant access to vital company information culminating in her ability to provide tailored customer service for our customers.
Peter Carah
InGroup Australia Business Manager
Peter joined Inproof in 2012 having spent 25 years at Manheim Auctions where he had at various times been the Victorian then National Manager for the Truck & Machinery businesses and then as Director of National Operations. It was whilst working in the Truck & Machinery business that Peter first came across Inproof and quickly recognised the significant contribution that Mick and his team made to the Manheim business. Peter brings to Inproof a broad range of commercial, financial and marketing/business development knowledge and provides diversity and balance to the management team.
